Because magic is natural to this world, so everyone here is born and raised with it, trained from childhood. That's not the same for all of us, so there are a great many Summoned who come here having never had magic before, learning for the first time as adults. Overwhelmed by sudden power and no control over it.
There are a lot of books in the library, you should go look. If you want a job to get you started here, they appreciate when people shelve the returns.
I do have a classroom. We can train there or somewhere more private, depending on your comfort level.

I didn't have friends really before I came here either. I wasn't a teacher either. This place can offer a fresh start in many ways. I look forward to teaching you.
