Yes, theoretically anyone can be good or bad at a new skill. I'm confident we can find something you can work with. You don't have to convince me, I'm the one who suggested it.
I make the time for my Summoned students. We need more help than most.
Because magic is natural to this world, so everyone here is born and raised with it, trained from childhood. That's not the same for all of us, so there are a great many Summoned who come here having never had magic before, learning for the first time as adults. Overwhelmed by sudden power and no control over it.

I didn't have friends really before I came here either. I wasn't a teacher either. This place can offer a fresh start in many ways. I look forward to teaching you.
