[ abraxas - horizon ]

THE HORIZON.
River's domain is a lush forest under a night sky, vibrantly alive with a constant cacophony of various wildlife and illuminated by playful motes of colorful lights amidst the greenery. It doesn't occupy a very large amount of space in the Horizon; you could theoretically walk from one edge of the forest to the other side in a few hours, provided you don't get lost or distracted on the way.

There are no clearly marked trails or other human constructs anywhere in the forest - with one exception. Lost somewhere in the dense underbrush, you might accidentally stumble across what seems to be the concrete foundation of a building. The entire area is overgrown with plants but those with a keen eye for details or architecture might be able to make out the general outline of a fairly large house with several rooms. If asked about it, River will give the vague answer that "it's all that's left behind." One room has a large wooden chest jampacked with eight hundred years of Goat Destroyer merch.

The main feature is at the center of the forest, where a large series of waterfalls is nestled into the side of a mountain. The trickle of water is accompanied by soft notes that chime almost randomly as water spills from one pool to another, each lighting up in different colors to create a discordant song across the vast space. What sounds like a xylophone chimes in cheerfully as objects drop into the pools from the forest canopy above. Along the rocky edges of the water, you might be able to find little frogs the size of throwing stones, black spotted with violet and lavender, their sticky toes midnight blue.

Otherwise, the forest is just growing wild and free with all sorts of strange critters and bioluminescent lifeforms. You can find some great vantage points for watching the stars, enjoy the occasional temperate rainstorm, or simply take a long walk through the enchanted woods.

( If you're looking very closely as you wander, you may randomly notice a strange hat hanging from a tree branch, sticking out of a bush, or even floating down a stream of water. Any time it is returned to River, she simply looks surprised before tucking it away with a quiet thank you. )
